Tanner's last week in the MTC went so well. He loved being Zone Leader and was able to serve the sisters in his zone. I loved reading this letter.

Hello my awesome family! I have missed you all so very much!! Wow! Another awesome week here at the MTC! Our branch president told us that we could take some time to email the night before we leave! So glad I could email one last time from the MTC before I head out in just a few hours to the big city! I have been packing like the wind! Hopefully you are having the biggest Super Bowl party ever right now! I wish I could be there but I know you are cheering extra loud!
I miss you all so much! This week I have learned so much but this has gone by so fast as well! I have loved being able to read your letters and emails! I have felt the love and prayers of each and every one of you! Every morning when I say my personal prayers I thank my Heavenly Father for the many blessings I have revieved and for the awesome family that he has given me! I have been so blessed my whole life to have a family like you!
The main focus of our studies have been on the importance of families in life and how the Gospel is centered not only on Jesus Christ but families and the role they play in our lives! This week I have been doing great! Lots of studying and practice teaching our investigators so we will be ready to do it for real here in just a few short days! I am happy to say that I'm ready to hit the streets of New York and start teaching the Gospel to people! My MTC experience has gone by so fast but I have enjoyed getting to know so many people! Our district isn't ready to split up because we have been together for the whole 2 weeks in the same classroom learning together and getting to know each other really well! This whole week as a district we have been talking about the many cool people we will meet and all the miles apart we will travel! Our district is so excited to go to West Virginia, Trinidad Port of Spain, Ogden,..... and of course New York! I have become really good friends with them all!
I loved your dear elder letters and the lyrics you put in their! I opened it up and started singing: "START SPREADIN' THE NEWS! I'M LEAVING ON MONDAY!" I know it doesn't rhyme but I still thought it was funny! I know that tomorrow I will wake up and automatically start singing it loud and proud! It's so exciting to say that by this time tomorrow I will be be in New York and I will have met my mission president, seen the Statue of Liberty, flown on a plane for the first time, and completed the MTC! Wow! I have loved my time here at the MTC and learned so much along the way!....but I'm ready for New York! I will miss you all so much but I look forward to the many cool experiences I will have these next 2 years! It is crazy to think I have lived in Utah my whole life and now I get to adjust to a new exciting environment!
This week has been great because my companion and I have been busy leading the zone and making sure the new missionaries are adjusting to Missionary life! One of the new sisters has had a really tough time with homesickness and she asked me how I dealt with it? I said that once you make it to Sunday, the homesickness goes away but you still miss your family! When I first got here I was pretty homesick but they told us to make it to Sunday and you will be just fine! And sure enough the homesickness went away but I still miss you all so much!
On Tuesday we got to go through the Temple again and it was so amazing! My companion and I did enitiatory ordinances. We had a great time going to the Temple because it is always so peaceful! Also on P-Day we got our first and last haircut at the MTC! We are both looking sharp and ready to go! On Friday we taught our last "investigator" here at the MTC. It gave us so much experience to talk to someone about the gospel! Each lesson goes for about 25 minutes and we have two of those per day! So we got 50 minutes of practice each day! It's funny because I will see people doing the air quotes when they say investigator because we all know that they are members! It has been a great experience talking to these investigators because it gives us a chance to figure out for ourselves how to break down the lessons and teach in a way that someone who doesn't know much about our church could understand! So we have to plan the lessons just like we will out in the field!
Wednesday was so awesome!! At 11:00 we had new missionary host training! They had us put on our host stickers and then they talked about what to do and where to take them! It seemed like I was just in that position! I got to host 2 missionaries! My first missionary that I hosted was from Utah and he was really nice! But the second missionary had a hard time saying goodbye to his family (which I know I did!) I actually knew him from high school! Parker, Brandon, and Dad would know his brother, Dallas Niemann, because he caught the hail mary pass against Roy! I recognized him instantly so when he and his family got out of his truck I said "Hey Elder Niemann!" He had his back turned to me so when I said that he wondered who knew his name! His mom said, "What are the chances of that?" I had so much fun seeing all of the new missionaries getting dropped off! Lots of tears were shed which brought tears to my eyes because I was hosting missionaries right where you dropped me off.
Not much else has happened since P-Day....just lots of good lessons and practice teaching. But, one other thing that happened this week is we had another sister missionary from our district had to go home. Sister Thomas had been not feeling well since the beginning of week 2 and just hasn't been doing well. So late on Thursday night, she was in so much pain that she went to the front desk and called our district cell phone and asked if I could give her a blessing. I was glad to because she had been toughing it out for about a week now and didn't want a blessing. I told her I would be glad to! So my companion and I went to the front desk at about midnight and gave her a blessing. Then 2 other Sisters that came with her for comfort started tearing up and wondered if they could have one too. They had been so stressed and homesick that a blessing sounded like the best thing for them. In all, it was a great opportunity to give blessings and exercise our Priesthood authority! It was a great testimony builder! Well, Sister Thomas went to the ER down the street to do a CT scan and they found two nickel sized kidney stones. Can you believe that? They told her if she wanted to stay here at the MTC for two weeks while she passed them or go home until she got better. She of course chose to go home (which is in Payson). She is so close to home that her Dad picked her up on his way to work! Lucky they lived so close! But, she does get to fly out in a few short weeks to West Virginia! So we are all so glad that she knows what is wrong and she will be able to continue her mission!
Well, It has been so awesome to email today and let you know how I was doing before I head off to the Big Apple! I still can't believe it's actually happening! I feel like I just barely got here! By the way! I'm so glad to hear Dad had a safe flight home from Phoenix! Sounds like he had so much fun going to the Suns/Nuggets game and going to the Aggie game with the boys! Sounds like so much fun!
So just some more info about my travels tomorrow! I found out that I get to check my 2 bags! The big suitcase can't weigh more than 50 pounds and the small one no more than 40! So I will be totally fine! I am so hoping that Sister Smith does the Facebook live!! I want her to do it so bad! Also, I'm not sure exactly what time I will call you but I will do anything to talk to you all! Thank you so much for the info about the conference call! That will be so cool! I will be sure to figure it out! They said we could call both in Salt Lake and Detroit! So I may get to talk to you twice! I'm so excited to hear a familiar voice! I leave the MTC at 3:30 AM so I should get to the airport by about 5:00-5:30! Then it will take me a little while to get through security but I will call you ASAP! I have been dying to talk with everyone! Then I should land in New York at about 4:00-5:00, but I'm not sure if they factored in the time difference!
Thank you all again so much for all the love and support! I look forward to my incredible journey I have ahead! I am ready and prepared to go now that I've been through the MTC! Have so much fun! I will be back in Utah in no time! I love you all so much and I hope everything works our with the Facebook live and calling from the airport! I miss you all so much! Love you Mom, Dad, Abbs, Brandon, and Parker!!!!

P.S: I forgot to answer Dubbie's question he had in our last email! My favorite food that they have served hear would probably be the BBQ bacon burger! It was really good! They also served it with onion rings. ...And the Marshmallow Mateys of course! Sorry bud!
Also, thanks for supporting Arby's and going through the drive thru to hear my recording! I thought for sure they would have changed it by now!
