Hello my amazing and dear loved ones!!!!!
I'm so excited to talk to you today my dear Family! What an awesome week you had! I'm so thankful that you had a great 4th of July and you had lots of fun! It was so fun to hear all about your week and all of the fun activites going on! I appreciate your emails so much! This week has been so great and we did lots of tracting and found quite a few people! I have really loved New Paltz and the beautiful scenery! I have so much to tell you and I'm very excited to talk to you today! I will send out a separate email to everyone about transfers! I hope that you enjoy my email! Today for P-Day, we are going to play some basketball and pack up but it won't take too long because I didn't really unpack a whole lot just in case it was a quick trip and so I just have a few last minute things to pack and so I have lots of time to email which I'm very excited for! Thanks again for the awesome email and fun pictures! Here it goes!
Wow! Last P-day was so much fun!!! It was a blast to email and hear from you! We had such a fun time with Ray Smith and we got to see some amazing sights! The views were amazing and we got to see the beautiful lake! Then we got some Subway and had so much fun talking with Ray Smith and also emailing you all! The trail was so nice and there were lots of fun overlooks and we even saw some deer and rabbits! I love taking pictures and so I'm so glad that you liked them all! I actually haven't been to that lake that we went to today but it looked very similar to the one that we went to with Sister Parks. I would love for you to come and go on that pretty hike someday! It actually looks familiar because it is pretty close to the Apple orchard that we went and picked apples on with Ray Smith last fall! It is so pretty! After our fun P-Day ended, we did some more tracting and we planned for our APF activity and got everything ready for the whole Distirct to hand out questions about the Book of Mormon. Then while we were tracting, I felt prompted to point on a random spot on the GPS and we ended up finding a really cool couple who goes to a Presbyterian Church and they have lots of potential! Their daughter even has a friend who is on a mission! I was so excited to see your email when we got back to the apartment! Your email made me feel so happy and at peace! That was such great advice about not talking about my release date in my 1st email! I'm so grateful for your guidance and council! You are so awesome and that is defitnalty what I should do! Thanks so much for your email! I am just so excited for Abby and her getting the job!!!! Prayers work and I'm so thankful that they were answered!!! CONGRATS ABBY!!! You will do so awesome and you might have to get me a job when I get home! Wink, Wink!
Thanks again for your email and letting me know! I'm totally open for coming home whenever and I just want to make the right decision. You are always so loving and supportive and I truly appreciate your wisdom and guidance! I hope that you have an amazing and fun day! Good luck at your orientation dear Abby!!! Love and miss you all so much!!!!
Tuesday was another awesome day! Wow! The days just keep getting better and better! I'm so thankful for your prayers because I am always so full of energy and motivation! It was so great to talk to you yesterday and I just love emailing you! We played some more basketball at the basketball court at SUNY New Paltz that has the funny rims and we got a little bit better but the ball just would not go in. I think that we have more fun laughing than anything! Hehe!

We figured out that it basically has to swish or else it will bounce out. We had a busy day planned and we had our 2nd district meeting since I've been here and it went really well! The District Leader for the other district in Poughkeepsie got called to be the New assistant to President Hess and so Elder Lusk is now in charge of 2 districts! It was great to see Elder Dick again and the district meeting went so well! Then we went back out to tract and let me just just say that we are being so blessed with people to teach! We found 2 different young Moms that want to learn more! We were walking down a street with not very many houses and it was dead silent. Then we saw this lady outside with her tiny baby and 2 year old. We shared with them the Restoration and how the Gospel blesses families and she totally loved it! She said that her and her Family are going on vacation but she wants us to come back in 2 weeks! Her name is Shelby and we also found another cool lady named Macayla who goes to Church just down the street! One awesome thing about Shelby is that her husband used to mow the big lawn at the Church in New Paltz! What are the odds? Then it was our turn for the APF but right as we were about to start our shift, it started to rain. We found a really awesome guy named Joseph and he knew 2 of the inactive members in the Branch and so we are texting the members that he knows. I was thinking about Abby and her job orientation! I hope that you all have an amazing and fun 4th of July! We got an email from President Hess and he said that we could stay out until 10:30 and watch fireworks! The problem is that we have to get a ride to and from a member to and from the fireworks and so we aren't sure who will be willing to take us but if all else fails, we will enjoy an ice cold root beer float and watch the fireworks from our apartment! It should be so fun and I'm really excited to hear how your fun day goes! Love you all tons!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY MY DEAR FAMILY!! I hope that you all had a really fun day watching the fireworks and having some yummy food! I was so excited to get your fun email with the picture! Thanks so much for thinking about me! We woke up and had one of the funniest games of basketball ever. The rim has been rejecting our shots like crazy and the 4 of us combined only made a handful of shots. We had a good laugh! Hehe!
We had some service scheduled with a less active member to use the weedwhacker to trim around her property and so we were looking forward to that! We were able to use her weedwhacker and we trimmed around her whole yard and cut down some tall weeds. She has a hard time doing yard work on her own and so she really appreciated our help! She has a really pretty bird named Elvis and he talks to us whenever we come over. He will yell "Hello!" and "What's Up!" It is really funny and it is so cool to see a Macaw! Then we did tracting for the rest of the day and tried to visit a few members. It was very successful and we met a guy from Jamaica and he told us that we could come back on Saturday! We are really excited for him because he seems golden and even accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon and Restoration pamphlet! It is always so cool and amazing to see someone be so receptive and it's also fun to see our hard work pay off! It was fun to see all of the Families gathered together having picnics and 4th of July parties. We got to talk to lots of people and the majority are Roman Catholic in the area that we were in, however, we did meet someone from a religion that I have never heard of....a Deist! It is pronounced Dee-ist and he only believes in God and other figures like angels, fairies, and other people but he doesn't believe in religion. It was interesting to learn about! Then we went to a really nice and fancy neighborhood in Highland and as we were walking, we heard The Star Spangled Banner by Jimi Hendrix come on and it was just a cool sight to see all of the Families out and it really made me think of you! I was so excited for your email and I really appreciated the PDF files and information! It was an answer to my prayers because now I know when to come home! It's totally an answer to my prayers!!!!!!! Then while we were tracting, we found 2 guys named Clevon and Jason. There were a lot of fireworks going off and lots of parties going on! I was wishing you all a really fun evening and I hope that you were shooting off a lot of fireworks! We came back to the apartment and had some delicious root beer floats in honor of our tradition! We weren't able to go see the fireworks because we weren't able to find a member to take us. The fireworks started at 10:00 and so it would have been hard to get back by 10:30. I was thinking abiut you a lot and hoping that your 4th of July was a blast! Thanks again for the awesome email and information! I really appreciated it! It was so fun to read about the mission and all of the fun facts! Happy 4th of July!! I love and miss you with all my heart!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
COOL STORY ALERT!!!!
Thursday was a really great day! I have something SOOOOOO COOL to tell you!!!!!! The weather has been so nice and we had a great day! I was thinking about each of you and sending my love your way! Thanks so much for all of your prayers because things couldn't be going better over here and I'm well and happy! We had another awesome day and got to do our weekly planning which is always really nice! The New Jersey Morristown Mission has a total apartment cleaning that happens on the Thursday before transfers and so we cleaned the whole apartment from top to bottom and I cleaned the bathroom and made it look pretty nice. It hadn't been deep cleaned in a while and so it was nice to get it done for the next missionaries that might come and live here! I'm getting so excited for this upcoming transfer calls on Sunday night but we did find out that if both of us are leaving, then they will let us know on Saturday night! I totally forgot to answer your question about the January 21st transfer. I am not exactly sure if they will have a transfer then our if I will be the only one going home then. The next one would be on February 5th and so they might just have me go home on the 21st of January! We got to the Church to do our weekly planning and I had one of the COOLEST & most amazing experiences ever! It was divine coincidence and I'm still so excited! So we were sitting down doing our planning and we heard the door open behind us and a very friendly man said "Hello Elders!" I just can't believe the chances of this happening and it just goes to show how small this world is! We started talking to him and he told us that he was from out of town and he was in town for just a few days inspecting some of the Church buildings in the area such as New Paltz and Poughkeepsie. He was such a friendly guy and asked us where we were from. When I told him that I was from Nibley he goes, "Oh, yep, I know where that's at!" I asked him how he knew and his response made me so excited! He told me that he lives in Malad Idaho and has lived there his whole life but his job takes him all over the country inspecting different Church buildings. I told him that I have lots of Family that are from Malad and he says "I bet I know them!" I told him that Grandpa Evans is from Malad and Grandma Erma, and Jenk Palmer are also from Malad and he said "No Way! Know them both!" I couldn't believe my ears!!!! His name is Brother Corbridge and he says that he totally remembers Grandpa Evans and Jenk!!!! CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE THAT!?!?!? I felt so blessed to be in the right place at the right time! It was like "Divine Design" from the Elder Rasband talk! But wait....there's more!!! For some reason, I felt prompted to wear a certain tie that morning and guess which one it was, Grandpa Evans' tie! At the end of our conversation, I told him that I was wearing his tie and he said "How about that! That's amazing!" It was one of the coolest things because we were in the right place at the right time and it was even more amazing because he had a flight back to Utah a few hours after we met him and especially because the Chapel is in the middle of nowhere! I even got a picture of him so you can see if you recognize him! We had a great night after that and I was just so excited to tell you! We went tracting the rest of the day and the few streets that we knocked on did not want us there. We just kept a smile of our face and kept going and by the end, we ended up finding a lady who said that she is looking for a Church! It was a great way to end the day! Love you all tons!!!
Friday was such an awesome day! We got to go on a split with our roomates since Elder Lusk is the district leader and it went so well! We were all anxious to hear about transfer calls and to hear the news! I'm very excited to hear where I get to serve or if I will stay here! I was able to be companions with Elder Fowers for the day and we had a really awesome day! We did lots of tracting and it was fun to be with him for the day! We had apartment inspections from our zone leaders and everything was so clean and so they were impressed! I was able to get my talk all written for Sunday and I am excited to give it! After we had some lunch we went out and tracted for the rest of the day. I was very excited to see your email and I thought it was so fun that the Jensens are in New York City! It was so fun to think that Family was so close by! Thanks a bunch for sending it! It is always so fun to hear from you and it makes my whole day! We did an activity on main street in New Paltz and we passed out quite a few Book of Mormons! We met a really nice lady and she looked like she was from China or Japan but she said that she was born on a Japanese Reservation in Utah! It was really cool to talk to her and invite her to Church! The weather was really nice and lots of people were out and about and so we talked to a lot of cool people and for the most part, they encouraged us to keep doing what we were doing. Then we went to a really nice neighborhood and the houses were huge and we met a really nice lady named Bobbie! She had some very bad experiences with Churches in the past and so she was skeptical at first but she ended up being very interested! It was so fun to be outside talking to everyone we could and sharing our special and simple message about Joseph Smith with everyone! I love it so much! We headed back to the apartment for the day and we found out from President Hess that a member of the Seventy will be visiting the mission in September so we were excited about that! I was thinking about you all so much and wishing you well!!! Love ya!!
Saturday was amazing! Thank you a ton for your email! They are so awesome to get! I've got some big news!!!! We were all very excited because white wash calls came out that night at 9:30 and so we were anxious to see if we are getting transferred! White wash calls means that we would find out if both of us are getting transferred and so we were excited to find out a day early if anything was going to happen. They do transfer calls a little differently in this mission and it is really fun to have the whole mission log on to the conference call and hear President Hess announce all of the transfers! Everyone calls on to the call number on Saturday to find out if both companions are leaving an area and then on Sunday night at 9:30, we find out where and if we are getting transferred. We had a really great day and played basketball for 1 last time of the transfer and got ready for another great day! We did some tracting in a beautiful area and the weather was seriously so nice and perfect! We knocked on the door of a man named Bob and he told us that he read the Restoration pamphlet but he didn't like what he read. He said that we don't need any more prophets and that we are all waiting for the 2 coming and so he shut the door and we headed on to the next neighborhood. We were in the area of a Family from Kingston and they actually live in the New Paltz boundaries but choose to go to the Kingston ward. So we went and visited the Goodin Family for a few minutes and tracting around their neighborhood! We met a guy and he said that he was atheist and so we tried to ask him questions that would get him thinking about if God exists. We didn't have very much luck with finding people at home and mostly everyone was gone and we even changed areas quite a bit but didn't have too much luck. Maybe it was because the weather was so nice and so they were all gone camping, fishing, or boating!
we also had our weekly branch correlation meeting at the Church with Brother Walker who is from Jamaica. It went really well and then we came back to the apartment at 9:00 and got ready for the big news and to see if our area was getting different missionaries! We were really excited! We got a call from the Sister Missionaries and so we were hoping to hear some news! They called us and told us something shocking! So as of right now in the New Paltz Branch, there are 2 sets of Elders and 2 sets of Sisters so 8 missionaries total and.........President Hess is transferring out 7 of the 8 missionaries and dissolving the Sister missionary area and combining the areas together! So I have a 7 out of 8 chance of getting transferred but we won't find out until tomorrow night! So I'm very excited!!!! They will be bringing in 1 Spanish Elder that will be companions with one of the 4 Elders who are serving here! So I'm very excited for transfer calls tomorrow because I am almost positive that I will get transferred! I'm sad to leave this beautiful area and I just got here but I'm excited to see where I go I hope that you all had an amazing day! Love you all tons!!!
P.S: Update!! We just got a call from the Assistants to President Hess and they told us that both Elder Lusk and I are getting transferred!! Isn't that exciting!?!?! So we will get to drive down to Newark New Jersey on Tuesday for transfers!!! All of the missionaries that are getting transferred will meet at the Newark Chapel for transfers! I'm very excited to find out where I will be getting transferred to tomorrow night but I'm sad to leave this awesome area!
Sunday was so awesome!!! I was able to give my talk and it went so well! I was really excited to get your email and see your pictures! It made my whole day even better to get your fun email! We got a lot done and had a great time at Church! I hope that you all enjoyed your Sabbath! I think about you a lot and I'm so thankful for all that you do because I sure can feel your prayers! The weather was so nice and it has been great to get a break from the heat! We have had bright blue skies and the humidity has been pretty low for New York! My talk was on a talk given by Elder Uchtdorf in the October 2014 General Conference and it talks about finding light and truth and gaining a testimony for ourselves. I couldn't have been happier with how my talk turned out and everybody said that they enjoyed it! It was wierd to be saying goodbye to everyone when j don't even know the Branch very well yet and it was so wierd to think that I am getting transferred again! We tracted for the rest of the day and I was getting really anxious and excited to hear where I am getting transferred! They have the entire mission call on to the conference call and we get to hear every transfer that will be happening on Tuesday and so I think that is a great way to do it! While we were tracting, there weren't a lot of people at home but we still enjoyed being outside because the weather was so nice! We knocked on door after door, after door but we only had a few people answer the door. We were able to text Jonathan and set up an appointment with him before we get transferred on Tuesday! It is so fun and exciting to think that I get to drive to Newark on Tuesday and see some sights of New Jersey! We had such a great Sabbath and I was just so excited for your email and pictures! We called in at 9:30 to hear the news of all the transfers taking place around the mission! We logged on and it was fun to think that all of the missionaries in the whole mission were on and that everyone gets to hear where each other is going! I was so excited to see and read your email and see your pictures! Your email was just so amazing!!!! Here is the big news!!! Drum roll please!!!!!!!................I am getting transferred to.......Sparta Township with Elder Caccioppoli! So excited to talk to you! Love you tons and tons!
Well my dear loved ones, I really enjoyed typing up this email and I'm so excited to hear from you today! Thanks again for your awesome and fun email and pictures! You are the best Family ever and I really appreciate all that you do for me! I'm very excited for this next chapter in my mission! I have some cool news! So I will be the one driving down to Newark tomorrow and there is a slight chance that we will get to pass right by MetLife Stadium where the Jets and the Giants play!!!! There are 2 different routes to take to get to the Newark Chapel and they are the same distance and so I'm really hoping that we can pass right by it! It will be so amazing! I hope that you all have another awesome and fun week! I will send out a separate email to you all and tell you a little bit more about transfers! I'm very excited to go to New Jersey and get to work! It will be such an exciting time! Have such a great week and know that I love each of you all the time!! You mean everything to me and I'm so thankful for all that you do! Have an awesome and fun week! LOVE & MISS YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!

Love You Always!
