Hello my dear and incredible Family!!!! I'm so happy to talk to you today! I have been so excited to read your email and email you today from the Bronx! I have so much fun news and there is so much that I want to talk about! I have been settling in just fine and it's weird to have a companion that ahs been out for longer than I have again. Elder Mitonzi and I are getting along great and I love this area! I definitely miss Elder Williams and all of the amazing sights of Lower Manhattan but the Bronx is really cool too! I will send out a separate email and let you know all about Elder Mitonzi and this area because there is a lot to share! I hope you enjoy my email and pictures!
Last P-Day was a ton of fun!!!! We packed the day full of fun activities and got to see all of the major sights of New York City all in 1 day! We did our laundry and grocery shopping and then we went to the Post Office so I could mail my package and then we ate at the Halal Guys and I got a roast beef gyro with barbeque and a special white sauce and it was so tasty! Then we went up and walked around the Empire State Building and got to see that giant building and took lots of pictures! Then we went to China Town and looked around. I didn't buy anything but Elder Staker wanted a few souvenirs for his family since he was headed home. We had a really fun time and the streets were as crowded as ever and tons of tourists were out and about. Then we went down to the Financial District and saw lots of street artists and performers and then we walked halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge and took lots of pictures of the city behind us! It was so cool and lots of people from Germany, Italy, and China were out on tours. Then we ran into the street artists that uses only spray paint for his amazing art and since he is hard to find in this huge city, we decided to buy some of his art and have him make it right in front of our eyes! I was so sad that it could have been my last P-Day is Manhattan but I was hoping that I could come back soon! I have loved this city so much and all of the cool sights there is to see! I have made so many memories that I will never forget! After our fun day ended, we went to have a dinner appointment with Brother and Sister Wood! They texted us and asked if we could meet at Arby's for dinner and of course we were excited about that! I got a chicken bacon swiss sanchwhich with a shake and it was really good! We shared a message about General Conference and invited them to write down a question that they want answered. It was a really awesome end to our really fun day! Thanks so much for all of your emails and pictures! It's always so much fun to email you back and forth! Love you all so much!
Thursday was a very great day of hard work! I woke up and was so excited to get your packages and cards! I couldn't wait to go and pick up mail! This last week of the transfer, we have been working especially hard since it could potentially be our last week together and so we are making the very most out of it! It was a little rainy today but we did our weekly planning and so it was nice to be inside and plan things out for the week and then I realized that I was planning for a week that j might not be here. I woke up and was so excited to see your email! They always make my whole day! I was also excited that mail was coming and so I was so very excited to go and get your package! We did our morning studies and I read out of the Book of Mormon and read through one of my favorite sections about finding people to teach. Then we had a conference call from President Smith which are always a lot of fun and it's cool to think that the whole mission is listening in! He shared lots of cool experiences and even shared the one about Sister Smith on the train and is a friend to Brother Stanford! Then we went to our lesson with a less active, part member Family and Brother Mishler met us there. We had a great lesson with them and we talked a lot about General Conference and they said that they would watch it and so we were excited about that! They haven't been to Church in 2 years. They had 2 sons and one of them didn't get baptized. They are really nice and would be so great in our ward but the 2 parents have some health challenges that make morning really hard for them and so they were excited to watch conference from their home! Brother Mishler bore his testimony about the Book of Mormon and it really brought the spirit! We committed Brother Ramos to come to the Priesthood Session and Brother Mishler even offered to sit with him! Then we went and got our mail and I was so very excited to get your package!!!! In the lobby of the Temple as we were walking out, a couple and their 3 kids came walking in and we got to talk to them for a few minutes! The Dad is from the Netherlands and they live in the UK and were on vacation! It was really cool to talk to them and know that they go to Church all the way over there in the UK! Thank you all so much for the awesome cards and treats for Conference and Easter! You guys are THE BEST!!!! #1!!!! Also, thank to Brandon for picking everything out! I loved every single treat so much and loved the card signed by my dear loved ones! It was such a fun treat! I was so excited to have some yummy treats to nibble on while we watched Conference! Everyone here has a tv that they watch it on unlike Kingston where some members came to the Church and watch it and so Elder Williams and I would have the whole chapel to ourselves go watch and eat treats! Then we called lots of members and invited them to Brother Forbes' temple Endownment session. He has been wanting to go on March 30th for a few months now since it is his Birthday but he chose to go at 8:30 at night and so we aren't able to go since we need to be in by 9:00. We wouldn't have gotten back until 11:45 since it takes an hour to get from the Temple to our apartment but we really wanted to go! We texted and invited so many people since we felt bad that we couldn't go and we got a pretty good list of people to go! Then we had a really fun dinner appointment with the Toomey family and it was crazy to think that it could have been my last meal over there. We shared "The Music Of The Gospel" video and then they told us that they were going to come to the Chapel to watch conference since we didn't have Church and they wanted to see me again! It was a really awesome day and we got back to the apartment and I was very excited to see your email and the new trainers!! Thanks so much!
Friday was another really awesome day! It was a really cloudy and cool day but it felt really nice since the day before was so humid. We had another great and fun day planned and we were excited to get going! First, we went to go do some service and help Justen at his park and we picked up tons of garbage. There were a lot of people that stopped and were happy to see someone cleaning up the park! We cleaned up for about an hour and then had a delicious lunch at Subway and then did our companionship study at the apartment. Then we had lots of cool things happen and we had a really great lesson with a guy who the Sisters referred to us. We went over to teach him and also give him a blessing. His name is Donald Williams and he is really nice! He is having open heart surgery in about a month and is really stressing about it because he has never liked surgery. We were able to teach him the whole Restoration and it made so much sense to him! He really felt the spirit and could feel that our message was true! He has a Book of Mormon and so we committed him to read it. He goes to a Church that is local to Manhattan and so he has a strong background to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It will be really cool to see him progress because once he prays and gains a testimony, then he will be able to come to Church and strengthen his Faith even more! Then we went to visit a man named Hollister Lowe that was referred to us who lives near China Town and wanted a copy of the Book of Mormon! So we went over to teach him but he didn't answer his buzzer. Then we went to our next appointment with Andy and had a great lesson with him! He called us that morning and asked if we could come over and help him fix his tablet because it was having a WiFi problem. Then when we got back to the apartment for dinner, I was REALLY excited to see your email! I was shocked to see that I'm into the 200's in days left and I was so glad that you got my package! I feel like we were just saying how crazy it was that I was already in the 300's and now....BOOM! We're down I to the 200's! The days just keep going by quicker and quicker! After dinner, we went to visit a guy named Patterson Nelson who logged on to mormon.org and requested us to come over and he lives right by our apartment! He wasn't home and so we left him a card and then went to go visit Robert. Right before going in to our lesson, we got a text from our Zone Leaders telling us that transfer calls would be on Sunday night because of the Priesthood Session. We had a really awesome lesson with Robert and read 1 Nephi 8 with him about the tree of life and he understood the whole chapter and learned so much! He was doing so well and really has been feeling so much for peace and happiness in his life! I was hoping you were having a really awesome day! Love and miss you all tons!
HAPPY GENERAL CONFERENCE!!! Saturday was just such an awesome day! I was thinking about you all a lot and hoping that you were having an awesome day! We woke up and we were SOOOO excited to watch Conference and hear all of the great talks! It was so much fun to know that we were all doing the same thing at the same time! I took lots of treats that you gave me and I enjoyed every bite! We did our morning studies and then left the apartment at 9:30 to go set up the huge projector screen and hook everything up so it was ready to roll! We got to the Chapel with plenty of time to make sure everything was running smoothly. We even hooked up the sound to the speakers in the Chapel so everyone could hear it loud and clear. We weren't expecting very many people because President Smith asked us to have recent converts go to members' houses so they can be fellowshipped. We were expecting a less active family to come and also a single less active guy to come as well. We were all so excited for it to start and hear the amazing talks! We set everything up and got the huge projector out and even vacuumed the Chapel so it was nice and clean for everyone coming. We hooked up the projector to the cable and the picture came in HD and it looked so nice! We had a problem with the sound and couldn't hear anything but Elder Williams was a genius and went over behind the piano and there was a button and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir came in loud and clear!!! Everything could not have worked more perfectly! We are so grateful that we were able to have Conference in HD and with amazing sound! We waited for it to start and were really looking forward to all of the talks and music! Thank you SO VERY much for your awesome emails! It was so amazing to sustain President Nelson, his counselors, and the apostles!!! One of the coolest things was Elder Gong getting called to be an apostle!! I was so excited to see your fun email with the picture of Elder Gong and I! It was really cool to think that we were both watching it at the same time! Thank you SO much for the emails! I loved every single talk and I learned so much! After the 1st session, we went with Brother Forbes to get a $1.00 slice of delicious New York pizza and then Baskin Robbins was having a $1.50 per scoop deal and so we had a fun time having ice cream before the 2nd session. Brother Eades showed up right before the 2nd session and so it was fun to have both Brother Forbes and Brother Eades! I was hoping that you were having a great day and having tons of fun watching Conference because we sure were having an awesome time! I was so grateful that everything with the technology was working perfectly. It was a really great time and the talks were just incredible! The 2nd session was just as good and I loved ever single talk! After the 2nd session and before the Priesthood Session, we had a huge pizza party with a lot of members that came and it was a ton of fun! We had Dominoes and lots of ice cold soda and we had lots of people show up. I loved the session and was surprised to hear about the changes to the quorums. I loved each talk to much and it was really fun to think that Dubbie and dad were singing the exact same songs and listening to the same talks at the same time that I was all the way over here in New York! It was a really fun time and then I "said goodbye" to the members in the ward since I didn't know if I would be staying or going. It is always weird to say goodbye to everyone but still not know if I would be leaving in 3 days or not. We headed back to the apartment so happy and excited about the talks that we heard and headed off to bed after a truly amazing day!
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!! I love you all so very much and was hoping that you were having a great and fun Easter and a fun time watching conference! It was transfer call day and so I was on pins and needles all day wondering what the news would be! I would love to share some of my thoughts about this amazing conference! I loved the story about the Mom who sold her bracelet in order for her son to go to college and I loved all of the testimonies that were shared about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon! Thanks to each of you for your constant love and support! You are all my favorite people in the whole world and I cherish you all more than anything! I strive to live my life to honor you and be the best example I can be and I know that by following the example of Jesus Christ and become more like him, we can accomplish our goals! I love and sustain our Church leaders and I know they are true men of God! I have loved listening to all of the talks and trying to receive answers to my questions about life and what I should do for my future. I've been thinking a lot about education and future job opportunities and I've been praying to know what to do in 9 months when I come home. I was so excited to see your email when I woke up and laughed at the "Easter Fools Day!" Thanks so much for sending it! We got ready for the day and did our studies and then headed over to the Church for the morning session of Conference! We were excited as usual for Conference to start and to listen to the talks and exciting news! I was thinking about you a lot and hoping that your Easter was going really well! I loved the session so much and I really enjoyed listening to the whole first presidency! Then we had a delicious lunch that Brother and Sister Call! We had ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, deviled eggs and cinnamon rolls! It was a lot of fun and it was cool to think that we were probably eating at the exact same time! After our delicious lunch, we headed up to the 4th floor to watch the 2nd session and it was so amazing and the announcements were so cool! I laughed and laughed at your funny email and thought it was hilarious! I was shocked shocked to hear about the retiring of home and visiting teaching and really was excited for the new program! I am so grateful for the chance I had to go with Dad on many home teaching visits and I will be forever grateful for the memories I made while going to firesides and home teaching! I was also so excited to hear about all the new temples all over the world! It was so amazing to see everyone's reactions about the temples, especially Russia! I just got thinking that I want to set a goal to go to the Layton Temple open house!! Hopefully we can go in a few years when it is done! I am so grateful for all of the talks and I learned so much! I really couldn't beleive that it was my 3/4 General Conference on my mission! I was thinking about each of you a ton and hoping that your day was going great and you were having a nice feast and fun time talking with one another! We came back to the apartment to drop off some extra food that Sister Call gave to us and then we went to visit Robert, for my potentially last time. I even recorded the transfer call on my voice recorder so you can listen to it! I was getting pretty anxious to hear the news because I knew that a lot was on the line for this transfer call and it could potentially determine which mission I end up in! We had a great lesson with Robert and then I said goodbye to him and then we talked to some really nice police officers that were right by our apartment and it was fun that Elder Williams' Dad is a police officer and so they had that connection! It was such an amazing day and we came back to the apartment anxious to hear the news! Then the phone call came! I am so excited to say that I am getting transferred to Kingsbridge 2nd Ward in the Bronx with Elder Mitonzi! He is such a great missionary and I've known him ever since the beginning of my mission! I am really excited for this opportunity and continue the work in the Bronx! LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! HAPPY EASTER!
Monday was a great and busy day full of packing like the wind! I woke up and was so excited to see that I had an email from you! It was so cool that Dad wore a Bronx shirt and Mom wore an I love New York shirt! I am so excited for this opportunity and I can't wait to work hard in the Bronx again! Kingsbridge is in a different zone that Olmstead and so it will be a completely different adventure! We woke up to a light skiff of snow and lots of wind and I worked on packing when Elder Williams was getting ready. It can be a little stressful to pack everything up and be out of an apartment in only 1 full day but it always comes together so nice! We had a really busy day planned and I said goodbye to lots of members. Elder Williams and I wanted to go it to eat at a really cool place for lunch with our roommates and we chose to go to Katz's and get some delicious pastrami sandwiches! We were really excited to go and I couldn't wait for Elder Williams to try it because it is so good!!! First, we went to visit Andy and he told us that he watched conference but he fell asleep and so we talked to him about the new changes. Then we had something SO cool happen! We went to Katz's for lunch and we met our roommates and as we were coming outside, tons of security officers and bodyguards were standing outside as well as a tv crew from ABC! Then we heard that the Mayor of New York City was coming to have a pastrami sandwich and then he and his wife got out of the car and went inside and I got a video of him! It was really cool! Then we went to the Church and studied until it was time to visit Neil for our last visit. I was thinking a lot about Conference and it was a very special and spiritual time that I will never forget! President Nelson's announcement of the new Temples was my favorite part and I loved President Nelson when he laughed and was just so excited to announce the new Temples. I loved every single talk and I loved eating the treats that you sent! After we had our visit with Neil, and then we went to our last appointment with Brother Eades and Brother Forbes. It is always hard to say goodbye but the hardest thing that I've ever done is say goodbye to you. I am very excited to give each of you a hug in 9 months but until then, I will keep working so hard and try my absolute best! I have been thinking a lot about what President Nelsen said about families. I am really grateful for each of you and I'm so grateful for the strong relationship we all have! You mean everything to me! I really appreciated his words when he said that having a strong family relationship is key and I'm so glad that I have such a great and loving relationship with you! After our visit with Brother Eades and Brother Forbes, we came back to the apartment and had dinner and then I packed like the wind! I didn't do any packing before transfer calls because I wanted to make sure that I was actually getting transferred and so only having 1 day has been a little crazy to pack up all my stuff and be ready to roll by Tuesday morning. It has been great though and everything came together perfectly! Every single time that I pack up though, I do have tears come to my eyes because it always reminds me of my great memories that I have with you when we packed up all of my stuff and got me ready for the MTC. I am always taken back to when we went shopping for all of my gear and what a special time in life that was. I mean This with every ounce of my heart.....THANK YOU!!!!! I'm so grateful for my dear parents and amazing 3 younger siblings and the rest of my amazing family! I always think about the time when we went to go try on suits and when we bought my gear at Costo and the other gear that I got for Christmas. That was a very special time in my life and I couldn't be here today serving a mission if it weren't for you because each of you are so special and amazing! I honor you in everything that I do and every decision that I make! I think about you all day, every day and truly am grateful for everything that you do for me and the examples you are! I'm also so grateful for each incredible memory that we have made together and I'm so glad that you have been making even more ever since I started serving a mission! It has been so fun to hear about the fun stuff that happened each week and the experiences that you each have! It means so much to have such detailed letters and fun pictures! I love being a missionary and each of you mean everything to me! I want you to know that I always LOVE, RESPECT, & CHERISH each of you and the time I get to spend with you and the huge examples you all are! LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday was such a great and crazy busy day! It's so nice that we can have P-day right after transfers so we can settle in! I will send a separate email to everyone and talk about the area and where the apartment! We woke up and I finished packing and I was ready to go! We said goodbye to Elder Latu and Elder Staker and then we did our studies before traveling up to the Inwood Chapel for our transfers! I was nervous but everything worked out so smoothly! It's always so weird to move into another apartment and get used to a different companion but I have been adjusting quicker and quicker each area that I go to. I can't even beleive that I'm already to my 6th companion and 4th area. It's crazy to think that this could be my 2nd to last area which is so crazy! I have loved each of my areas and companions so much! So we got to the Inwood Chapel to meet our new companions. I have to say, it was pretty hard to say goodbye to Elder Williams because he has been such a great companion for me and we became really good friends! It's fun to know that we can stay in touch after the mission! Elder Mitonzi is such a great guy! I have so much to talk about and I've very excited to tell you all about it! We had such a busy day and it's always crazy to adjust to a new area and companion! I was really excited to get your email and fun pictures! I was so excited to see Elder Mitonzi and guess what?? I have already met him before and so it was cool to see him again! After we transferred, I said goodbye to Elder Williams and then we headed back to the apartment to drop off my luggage and then we had a really great District meeting! This area is doing really well and we have 2 people on baptismal date! We had a really fun basketball activity with a 14 year old recent convert named Ariel and a member named Travis and an investigator named Wesley and I immediately thought of Brandon! There is so much that I want to tell you and so I hope that this is all making sense!
Hehe! We got back to the apartment and I was just so excited to hear all about your fun week! I was so excited that you all had an amazing and fun week! It was packed full and it was a blast to hear all about it and how much fun you all had! I loved looking at all of your pictures and reading your fun email! Thanks so much for all of details! It was such a great day and I have adjusted really well so far!
Well my dear loved ones, I have had so much fun today emailing you and I hope that we can chat back and forth. I hope that everything in my emails make sense.
Well my dear loved ones, I have had so much fun today emailing you and I hope that we can chat back and forth. I hope that everything in my emails make sense. I have been able to type so fast on my keyboard and so j hope it all comes together well! I hope you have an awesome rest of your Spring Break! I will be thinking about each one of you so much! I will continue to work my absolute hardest and always honor you in everything that I do! Happy Birthday next Wednesday Puck! It will be fun to email you on your special day!
